What Does A Basic First Aid And CPR Course Include

Students must:

• Be at least 18 years of age.
• Have a literacy standard that allows for effective reading of learning materials and answering of written assessment questions.
• Have a literacy standard that allows for the understanding of workplace instructions and procedures, reading of labels and application of medical equipment and resources.
• Have a level of oral communication that enables provision of accurate verbal reports in English to emergency response services, workplace supervisors and other responders.
• Have the physical ability to meet the following evidence requirements:
  • Perform at least 2 minutes of uninterrupted single rescuer Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) (5 cycles of both compressions and ventilations) on an adult resuscitation manikin placed on the floor.
  • Perform at least 2 minutes of uninterrupted single rescuer Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (5 cycles both compressions and ventilations) on an infant resuscitation manikin placed on a firm surface.
