Overview of course

This non-accredited course provides the skills and knowledge required to prepare for and provide medication assistance and complete medication documentation. and manage any contingencies in regards to medication management. It also involves supporting a client to self-administer medication

This unit applies to disability support workers, community services, and health workers with authority in their state or territory to assist with the administration of medication.

This course is designed for those whose job involves assisting clients with medications, documenting medication usage, and dealing with medication-related issues in the workplace.

This course is suitable for those willing to update and refresher the medication management skills.

This course is targeted at students who are seeking to refresh their skills and knowledge in medication assistance to further their career prospects or study pathways.

Training and assessment information

This course is delivered face-to-face in a classroom-based setting, as well as in the workplace.

The timetable for this course will be advised in your Workshop Booking email and Student Agreement.

You are required to attend classes for 2 hours where you will complete a mix of theory and practical activities. 

The assessments for this course will include:

  • Knowledge questions

Your classes will be conducted in modern classrooms, and you will be able to access Wi-Fi.  You will be provided with a Student Guide for learning.

We will identify any additional support needs you may have at the time of application and enrolment and may prepare a Student Support Plan for you based on those needs.
